It emphasizes also some secondary characteristics - pre-writing, practice, patience, sentence structure, main idea (topic sentence), word choice, conciseness, audience, reading aloud, reading, and feedback-- to help cement a good, well-written paragraph. Additionally, examples (models) and appropriate and relevant assignments follow each type of paragraph. Further, it highlights some common mistakes (red flags) which mar good writing. Finally, it suggests ways to generate ideas to speedily write the paragraph and reduce the student's anxiety. In sum, it is a holistic approach in writing the different paragraphs since each has a different technique of development.
