In April 1975, VC came to power. They put NTS's father in jail, a re-education camp, and ordered his family to march to a new economic zone, a desolate jungle, as punishment for being related to the colonel of the fallen republic. The headless family has no choice but to sell all they have to buy a fake family background paper proving that they have no tie with the old regime, and moves far away, hiding from their VC enemy. Thinking that the best place to hide is inside the VC enemy, so with the fake paper, NTS joins the Communist commerce school, a school created by VC to train their future comrades. Here he rides wild rides with his enemy; here he falls in love, only to find out that she is a daughter of a VC hero. He knows that he could no longer hide, and that he needs to lead his Orphans of the Society (OS), a body of sons of the fallen soldiers of the Republic, to the open sea in search of freedom. OS organizes to launch freedom boats to the open sea. And by doing so, they become reactionaries, the rebels against the Communists. Their sentence is death by firing squad or hanging; and NTS is the ring leader. She is in his way and in OS's as they fight their archenemy on their way out... Son T.
