Reseña del libro "Mistaken Identity: If you're being someone else, who's being you? (en Inglés)"

The pressure I felt to fit in and become someone else derived from people always telling me I was different. I spoke different, looked different and acted different. This left me confused as to who I really was and led me to wrestle with low self-esteem, rejection and intimidation. I was broken on the inside and no one even knew it.Low self-esteem made me constantly compare myself to others, always seeking their approval and never ever feeling good enough. In my twenties I had a major identity crisis and couldn't for the life of me figure out why I was never satisfied with myself. The words my Bishop spoke Sunday after Sunday and Wednesday after Wednesday began to penetrate my heart. I became exhausted with who I was and found myself crying out to God and asking him to help me. I had no clue as to what was wrong with me, but I knew God did and would identify it and deliver me from me. My parents always said, "If you know nothing else to do, then call on the name of Jesus and he will answer you."It was only after I cried out to God, I mean really cried out to God and became one hundred percent vulnerable, did I begin to see changes in my life. God showed me that I never needed people to tell me who I was. All I had to do was ask him and he would have told me that, "I the Lord God made all the delicate inner parts of your body and (strategically) knit you together in your mother's womb. I created you in my image and likeness. The love I have for you is unconditional." After years of looking high and low in people for who I was, I finally found what I was looking for. I found my identity and confidence in Christ. So many people struggle with low self-esteem and don't even realize it. It doesn't discriminate or stereotype. It infiltrates every part of your life. The way you think, perceive and make decisions. Who and how you make friends. What relationships you start and how long you stay. When there are so many wonderful testimonies of deliverance from drugs, sex, alcohol, etc. sometimes matters of the heart get overlooked. (Proverbs 4:23, NLT, Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life.) People are walking around angry, confused and sad all because their heart is flooded with misinterpretations of themselves. The enemy sells people fake identities and because there is no relationship with God our creator, we don't know it is counterfeit. Instead we embrace the mistaken identity. All the time, missing our purpose and getting further away from our destiny. I pray while reading this book, the words penetrate your heart, minister to your soul and you allow a real healing from God to take place. Choose to be free with me! Jessica C. Robins
