I HAD been stuck for hours in my study in the process of writing my other book different from this one when I started feeling tired and dizzy. I am usually a victim of such numbness, especially when I commit to long hours of mental concentration on writing or reading, but something was more unusual this sunny afternoon, my head felt much lighter than on other days, and I felt an emptiness in my stomach despite the heavy brunch I had taken an hour earlier.This is when I ventured out of my nest for recess. I started trotting the dusty streets of my neighborhood to refresh for one hour before resuming crafting my new title.I was singing to myself along the way, when I came across a bunch of young folks, possibly in their twenties, who were standing under a tree shade on the sidewalk. They were evidently arguing on something which I knew would eventually erupt into a fight if not intercepted.This sight provoked me and made the inspirational speaker in me to click into his element. I felt driven to spoon out a motivational buffet to stir these young hearts to do something worth with their time other than unproductive social hangouts. I did so for a good half an hour and the gang started disintegrating. Each went his way scratching his brow, evidence to me that I had provoked them to the core. As they went, I saw a determination in them to start a new life of productivity and progress. At this time, my one-hour recess was nearing exhaustion then I started pacing homeward. It is along the path to my crib that I conceived 'God's Hustler' title. In the distant, I saw three remarkable men approaching my vantage, and as they neared, I felt a death-thawing breeze baptising my body into the coolness of the day. The men were handsome and wellbuilt, however, the one in the middle was head and shoulders above the rest and the grace that accompanied them sent the most intriguing sensation to my melanin skin. On the path, the two on the sides halted as the one in the middle continued towards me. I got engulfed into a super-love moment when he pulled out his hand to greet me. He prophesied about a shift coming into the marketplace and afterward went personal. "You're being called to disciple the marketplace, to produce principals in this sphere for the Lord Jesus Christ." That made me reflect on my inadequacies, like experience, knowledge, grooming and expertise in the world of business. I went breathless for a moment at such a commissioning. The man discerned my doubts and reminded me about a lesson from my college mentor. He said: "Unlike men who call the qualified, God qualifies those he calls." His graceful words rammed a force of confidence in my heart searing an assurance that I could ace this assignment as long I was operating in His grace. The man continued his charge: "Write down the inspiration and experiences you shall receive and share them with the world. The wisdom you shall spit on those pages shall be critical to the birthing of titans in the marketplace." At this juncture, a realisation that God is the creator of all and is equally concerned with the marketplace as he is in church business oozed and billowed from my soul. That challenged my faith, but I was already soaring on this new found understanding; if we are God's children, then He must be interested in everything that touches our lives, spiritual, physical, social and economical. I was delirious with regards to my new-found assignment. I felt ecstatic, humbled and honoured all at the same time. The book I was working on had been intercepted and thus shelved for a little while to follow the trail of my new calling. The further I followed the trail, the deeper I grooved myself into extra-terrestrial experiences which have a strong lean on helping God's people to dominate in life and the marketplace. 'The God's Hustler' is brewed from instruction, not mere inspiration.
