For anyone who ever thought they started a race too late...fell short or felt left behind...for late bloomers everywhere, the sun is still shining. And there's still time to embrace it and continue to grow! Assembling my life into neat little chapters is not necessarily an easy task. I've broken down my story into three parts. First, as a child, my "dinosaurs" represented anything that frightened me. For me, dinosaurs were massive giants from a time that seemed an eternity away from my own life. When I thought of dinosaurs, I was afraid. "Lingering Footprints" marked the next milestone in my journey of discovery. As a young adult, I had to address the long lasting effects of my childhood, hence the lingering footprints casting shadows of doubt, shaping me and making me who I am, often determining the very direction of my own chosen paths. "Beyond the Ice Age" was my time to discover everything I took for the truth and had never questioned before. And those questions gave me answers, but also created more chaos and questions about my life. I admitted to myself that the dinosaurs from my childhood had died out and were no longer a real threat to my future. I realized them for what they were, fictitious characters that existed at one time, but never in my lifetime, and in acknowledging their absence, they could no longer hurt me. Knowing their true size and form of manifestation, I am now able to control them when they try to cast shadows in my life.
