Why? Because there's a problem in the Village - everyone's Powers are fading - except Tika's. Some elven are no longer even able to heat their Cookstones. Tika is given a hint by the fearsome Guardian of Net, Fyr'wall - a hint that involves the Line of Power that leads away from the Village - away from the only home Tika has ever known.
