Reseña del libro "Chronicle of the Seventh Son: Black Panther Mark Clark (en Inglés)"

This book entitled Chronicle of the Seventh Son, Black Panther Mark Clark is the true story of the activist and revolutionary. The author, Rose (Clark) Morris is the sister of the slain Black Panther Party Leader. In 1969, Rose was a young girl with a front row seat to history. From her unique vantage point, she watched as her brother and other family members participated in the Civil Rights Movement and the Black Power Liberation Struggle. As a child, she experienced the trauma of her brother's assassination and the deaths of their father, sister, and grandmother. Each death occurred during the turbulent period between 1968 and 1970. Rose never forgot the experiences of her childhood. Eventually, she became determined to tell the family story. She documented her own recollection of events and accounts told to her by their parents and siblings years ago. She interviewed family members for their stories, compiling family photos and historical information. She spent years researching books, articles, and records pertaining to The Black Panther Party, the December 4th raid, and the various court proceedings. Chronicle of the Seventh Son, Black Panther Mark Clark brings together the author's research and summarizes it plainly. Rose (Clark) Morris tells the story of her brother's life growing up in Peoria, Illinois. She describes specific events and interactions with the most influential people in his life. The author provides readers with an insightful look into the characteristics and values of Mark Clark's strong family unit. She shares the story of their father who was an Elder Pastor in the Church of God in Christ and their mother, a Missionary and Poet.Mark's sister shares the story of her brother's recruitment into The Black Panther Party and his organization of the Peoria, Illinois Chapter. The author exposes the infiltration of the Chicago Chapter of The Black Panther Party, the planning of the December 4th, 1969 raid, and the FBI COINTELPRO conspiracy. She examines the orchestrated media misinformation campaign designed to discredit the Panthers. The book provides readers with a summary review of the Blue Ribbon Coroner's Inquest and the Grand Juries convened. Details of the civil rights lawsuit filed and the thirteen year battle in the courts are included.Chronicle of the Seventh Son, Black Panther Mark Clark is a gripping account of how a strong African American family dealt with injustice and adversity during some of the most turbulent times of the twentieth century.
