When Douglas "Rapid" Johnston is shipped out to the front lines of the ETO, he follows his division far into Europe, recapturing territory for the Allied armies. He learns to obey orders from superiors, cooperate as a tank crew, call out effective commands himself, and master the art of tankery. However, though everything on the Eastern Front is optimal, the West is staring down a horrendous battle that's looming over the horizon. When attacks from the Germans in the north cut through to surround the vital crossroad city of Bastogne, it's Patton's job to rescue the besieged American troopers in the city. He calls on the 37th to answer a fire-call, one that includes a dangerous journey filled with hiding Nazi snipers, German paratroopers wearing American uniforms, and multiple engagements with pockets of resistance everywhere. The mission is simple: Douglas must return to Belgium with his company, alone without any fire support. The rest of the division was to follow after him, waiting for Douglas to clear a safe pathway to advance through. Douglas needs leave as soon as he could, for there was no plan in place, except for one mission: rescue the 101st Paratroopers guarding Bastogne.
