ANGELS IN MY ROOM is a road map to understand the power of healing. It teaches and inspires readers to embrace Jesus' Command to the daughters and sons of God to heal in the Name of Jesus. The author chronicles the process in which she engaged to accept the invitation to preach to 1,000 plus nurses at the National Black Nurses Association Convention in Atlanta, Georgia. Psalm 91, the over-arching scripture, forms the Biblical frame of reference for the Prologue to this book. Thereafter, the reader feels a sense of the dialogue with the Eternal God as the writer delves deeply into scriptural revelations about the the supernatural presence of angels on the scene. Very clear, Bible-based examples are portrayed to show the manner in which angels act on behalf of humans who are the beneficiaries of salvation. Readers feel totally connected to the human struggle that the preacher feels to bring a message of hope to people on a regular basis. The author demonstrates in a most profound way how God sends angels, both human and divine to help us keep "Divine Appointments". She writes: "The thing about divine appointments is that no matter what we know, or whatever else we have to do, we must be there, and we must be there on time. When it is a divine appointment, we know it instinctively. A sense of "the Otherness" of God permeates our being." After what seems like an effortless journey that weaves through many Biblical texts, the author is led to preach the story of Shiprah and Puah, the midwives who saved Moses from genocide. Their story of fearlessness in the face of tremendous threats is inspirational. These two midwives, nurses, helped save Moses who later led the Israelites out of Egypt. They were the angels in Moses' room. The author includes ways to establish a Covenant of Healing. Examples of angelic interventions inspire us and teach us how to recognize angelic intervention. Biblical references are used to demonstrate the order and hierarchy of angels and how they function on our behalf. Miracles that engaged nurses saved the life of the author, and the lives of her two daughters, stories are included. The Epilogue draws "The Circle of Life" to show the difference between caring nurses and people who are angels in the room for others and unconcerned, careless people who work against them. Reverend Nawanna Lewis Miller is the published author of OH GOD! MY PREACHER IS PREGNANT; CRUISING THE COSMOS; and HEAL THE HURT! LIVE THE VICTORY! She is a life-long Christian who celebrates the blessing of her first encounter with Jesus while she was yet in a high chair. Throughout her life, she has vigorously served in the church of Jesus Christ. God the Holy Spirit continues to give her prophetic vision to expand the scope of work to which God assigns her hand. Born in Atlanta, Georgia, she is married to her high school sweetheart, George C. Miller, Jr. Together, they serve God as parents to six adult children, and six grandsons. Reverend Miller is one of the early African-American graduates of the University of Georgia, where she earned the ABJ in Broadcast Journalism. The Master of Arts Degree in Organizational Communications was earned at the Howard University Graduate School of Arts and Sciences. The Master of Divinity Degree was earned from the Howard University School of Divinity. God permitted her to serve as the Founding Pastor of The Messiah's Temple Christian Ministries for 22 rears. A hemorrhagic stroke, with less than 20 percent survival rate, disrupted her service, and disabled her completely on the right side. Prior to the stroke, she taught for a year from this book. The revisions that were made to ANGELS IN MY ROOM were foremost on her mind when she returned home after two and a half months in hospitals and acute care facilities.
