Rejecting the reality of one’s soul is nothing less than trading one’s human potential for a mess of reality-poor technological pottage. The need to develop one’s soul is paramount in human existence. Otherwise, as stated in the epitaph, “we are only insects crawling among other ephemeral insects on a speck of surface mud and water amid the appalling immensities of the physical universe.”
