Reseña del libro "A History of Missions: "to the ends of the Earth..." (en Inglés)"

A History of Missions: God had missions on his heart from the very beginning. What I have written here is simply a short version of how missions has developed over the centuries. Angels could have done a better job, but God chose to use the people he had created. Some ideas worked. Some ideas probably should have never been tried. However, as the task converges on our century, one has to admit that we are getting better at it by the grace of God. Who knows? After reading the book, you might even want to get involved. excerpt from the book - A History of Missions: We are very familiar with the "Tower of Babel" narrative recorded in Genesis 11. Prior to that dispersion, God dealt with mankind as a whole. People were not separated into language groups. The entire human race was a monolithic unity. They all spoke the same language. In their determination to establish an idolatrous pantheon, they were able to strongly resist any message God might deliver. Mankind was determined to rebel against their Creator. In the words of Genesis 11:6, we are given to understand that because all men spoke the same language and because they had chosen to reject God, "Now nothing that they propose to do will be withheld from them." No work of evil would be impossible to them. As a result of man's decision, God said in Genesis 11:7, "Come let us go down and there confuse their language, that they may not understand one another's speech." There is no question but what this was an act of judgment. However, this move on God's part was also an act of tremendous mercy and included a wonderful strategy. He would not destroy all of mankind as He had done with the flood. Humanity was now resisting Him as a massive, singular entity. This time God would win them back family by family, clan by clan, people by people, and nation by nation. This is the Creator of the universe initiating a plan to "seek and to save that which was lost." This is our missionary God establishing the concept of Missions thousands of years before the Great Commission was delivered.
